Lisa Harrington has nearly 30 years experience in organizational leadership. Her credentials include hundreds of speaking & training engagements, management consulting (including culture shift assistance) and personal experience serving on various boards for 501 (c) 3 and 501 (c) 6 organizations. She's been in the insurance industry since 1983, working as an underwriter, field rep, P&C agent, agency operations manager and finally onto association management with FAIA and NetVU.
Always the educator, her natural talent to teach would rise to the top in every career move. As an insurance underwriter, church board member, agency operations manager and sales agent and business owner, she found that most negotiations go better when everyone is operating from a full understanding of the circumstances. As the daughter of a career Army Lieutenant Colonel, she saw the world, ending up in Indiana, where she attended Ball State University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Management and Spanish.
Her natural leadership skills helped her run dozens of department types, including Human Resources, Operations & Facilities, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing. Eventually, there was no holding the teacher in her back and she joined the Florida Association of Insurance Agents as the Vice President of Education.
After over a decade managing a department of 12 at FAIA, she and her husband Paul (a claims adjuster – insurance is apparently contagious) re-located to the Lone Star State where they live happily near Ft. Worth with a troupe of furry companions. Her consulting work with Sapphire Enterprises led to a position with NetVU, and she's happy to wear multiple hats.
